The Automation Template That Replaced My VA (And How To Build Yours)

A 4-step content pipeline that writes, reviews, approves, and schedules posts — built entirely from free, open-source nodes.

The Automation Template That Replaced My VA

When I started Mokoro, I was spending 10 hours a week on content: drafting, editing, scheduling, and re-reading the same LinkedIn post five times before hitting publish.

Then I built a four-step pipeline.

Step 1: Trigger from a single Google Sheet row

Add a row with topic, platform, tone, and publish_date. The automation picks it up.

Step 2: Draft with AI (cheap model)

Send the brief to a low-cost model (GPT-4o-mini / Claude Haiku) with a prompt library that matches the brand voice. Cost: fractions of a cent.

Step 3: Approve via Slack

Send the draft into a Slack channel with two buttons: Approve or Edit. If I click Edit, a modal lets me tweak. If I approve, it moves on.

Step 4: Schedule via Buffer / Meta / X

The approved post gets scheduled. The automation writes back to the Google Sheet with the final post URL.

Why this is worth selling (not just using)

When you productise something that saves you 10 hours a week, there are thousands of founders who’ll pay $79 to skip building it themselves.

That’s the template business: compress your own hard-won experience into a file, document it, record a Loom, and list it.

Build. Document. Ship. Repeat.

If this was useful, tell us on WhatsApp. Or ship your first automation.
